Do you recognize this face? Yes, Kristyn won last month AND this month. Here is her winning layout...

What the judges had to say:
The colors really pop on the dark background and pull us into the layout, especially into the group of photos. She matted the focal point photo for more emphasis, which also seems to add energy and movement to the group because the white makes the middle picture pop out. The right edge of the photos create a visual line about two-thirds the way across the page - very visually pleasing.
Kristyn chose the challenge to re-purpose an item. Her item was the torn page from a book. We love the book page and how she altered it first by using masks and mists, therefore making it a lot more interesting. Plus we really like the blue against the brown. The little cluster of embellishments at the bottom left with the "remember tag" is a nice way to anchor all the items to the page, and the butterflies create a good visual triangle.
The torn notebook edge with (it's casual look) and the die cut edge (with a regal one) feel like a visual representation of the "Capture the Everyday Moment" phrase and Kristyn's act of honoring the everyday.
Since I just interviewed Kristyn last month (if you missed it you can
read it in my previous Crop Circle blog post), I decided to just ask her one question this time:
If you only had time to create one album before you die, what types of stories would you choose to scrap?
I think the stories I would scrap would be similar to the ones that I entered this month. I am really trying to focus on telling the stories that show who we really are in our everyday life; how we interact, the little things that are important right now, the memories of the sweet moments of our 18 month old little boy. I have heard moms say "I just don't remember my child at that age". I don't want those words to ever come from my mouth. And by focusing on the stories that truly showcase our individual personalities and our relationships with each other, I will always be able to remember every stage of our lives, just by flipping through our albums.
