I do have trouble getting rid of the "might use" stuff. I, too, give materials to my son -- he has no trouble using any of it -- just dives right in! =) Also, I have (in the past) been drawn in on deals (and garage sales). I finally stopped when I…

The journaling is so touching. I have twin boyz, and I still think about their relationship and I hope and pray that they will always be close.

really cute and a great idea to use the tags and receipts!

Thank you so much for taking the time to give me some great advice. There is a lot here for me to think about, try, and then re-read, which will be very helpful. It is so cool how all of you had different things to say and gave me different things t…

It took me more than 15 years to figure out my style and I held onto a lot of "unused" product through that process. What I know now is that I always knew what was "me" immedately but purchased things all the time that I thought I "might" use and ne…

Hi Terrie! It sounds like you may be a bit like me: Eclectic in your style. And, I have to admidt that every now and then, this drives me nuts and I'm compelled to purge. I think the advice to start with what you love is perfect. Here's my advice,…

So moving. I love this page and story so much. Also, I competely undestand where you're coming from. Kids grow so fast -- my little brother and sister seemed to change from child to young adult in the span of a few years while I was off to college.…

I noticed that you mentioned that you didn't know how to use many of your products (pearlex, luminarts, rubber stamps, etc). Maybe see if you can take a class, either online or at the LSS you mentioned. If, after the class, you still don't find your…

Thanks Lorrie! My 4 yr old daughter was working with me and she is the one that actually used the paint! And the ones she painted did turn out looking so good. I need to use paint more. It really adds a lot. We had a good time making these! Thanks for your post. Merry Christmas!!

Terrie- The card that I did was done with the Cricut (I have both the Big and Baby Bugs) and the Cricut Solutions cartridge-Indie Art. If you don't have one, let me know and I will try to get some out to you. :)

The coloring part of the butterfly was done using the technique Tim Holtz shared on his blog: http://www.timholtz.com/demos.html. Go to the demo that is called "Alcohol Ink Splatter". He used the new Lights and Brights collection colors, but I used the old colors (wild plum, cranberry, eggplant, stream, denim, silver mixative)...if they are too dark for your taste..just use some blending solution and it will lighten a bit. :) You put two to three drops of A.I. on your glossy and then spray it with canned air (the stuff used to clean computers (walmart for $4.64)). The A.I. will "splatter" giving you the look I have on my card. :)

I also used rose bud and new sprout Memento Dew Drops ink pads. :) If you don't have those....let me know what you do have and I will try to find colors that will work. :)

Hope this helps-
Hugs-
