I really need to edit & print my photos! Although I'm SO not motivated to do it right now.

Im starting with May, too. You don't find that there is a great deal of blue and green, and not too much red and black? I thought that with the light colors of the blue and green, i should try to mix in the red and black journaling cards onto the same week page, but that wasn't looking too good. Maybe I'll try your way, Terri. Any other suggestions from others will be considered, as well!

Tracy,

I got a kit from Kim, too (thanks Kim!!)... and I decided to put everything into the album. I found that there were about 12 different week cards so I just put a different one in the album and rotated the design each 12 weeks. I had to figure out and lay out everything that was in the kit as far as patterns and decide which journaling cards I wanted to go with the week card. I was scared I would run out of the ones I liked and then be stuck with ones that didn't really coordinate (red, etc.) with some.

After I did that I coordinated the same week cards with the same journaling cards each 12 weeks... and filled the album that way. The reds actually have a lot of journaling cards that are red and coordinate... you just have to find something you like that works! I put all the red together on the week cards that were red, black, etc.

Anyhow, I am getting geared up and starting it in May. When are you starting yours? I am sure I will be changing things up if I need to during the whole process, but like you, I had to lay stuff out first and have a game plan! :)

I need some help! I got my kit (thanks Kim!) and I'm taking her tips to heart and putting in the week cards and the journaling cards now so that I can stay on top of it later. The only think I can't decide is how to arrange the week cards. Should I rotate them all in order, or should I make one month all one pattern, since there are 12 patterns? Or should I just do it completely randomly? I am so Obsessive Compulsive that I get stuck when I don't have directions or an instructor telling me what to do, lol. Also, how are you making the black and red "work" with the blues greens and greys? I would do away with the red and black all together, but the album cover is black and red already. Any tips for someone just getting started would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I read this passage in a book I picked up at a Homeschool used book sale (I think I paid a quarter :). The book is "Keeping a Nature Journal", and is filled with great ideas, and drawings, even things I can translate into scrapbooking. But the passage below seemed just what I am trying to accomplish with project 365.

Observe and Record
Far and away the most
common purpose of journaling
is simply to observe and
record. That is the point
where almost everyone
begins. (The work journal
meaning "daily") The "everyday"
journalist keeps an
ongoing record of aspect of
day-to-day living, weather it
be by sketching, list making,
writing, photographing, or
collecting specimens. The
journal is a way to keep an
ongoing connection with
the flow of life, day upon
day, year upon year.

I also try to work on it on Sunday afternoons. I keep the journal cards by my beside and write something about the picture and something about the bed before I go to sleep. Only problem is it does make me day dream a little too much before I fall asleep! I did put the weekly cards and filler card in the album already, along with the monthly dividers and the start and end pages.

Great tip Kim! I love that idea. One thing I have done to help keep up with it, is to schedule it once a week. For me it's Monday morning. I organize them, add my digital day of the week stamp on the photo (I don't use the stickers), upload them for printing and then pick them up later that day. That has helped me to keep up on it. I know if I didn't do that, I'd keep putting it off and get farther and farther behind.

We need to get some fire going in this group. It's fizzed out a little! Anyone have tips or photos to share??? I have 2 tips- one is to put all the cards ( the big 4x6 week of card and the small journaling cards) all in the album. Second - cut the days of the week stickers and slide them in a slot too. Then if you print the pictures weekly slide them in, journal, and you're done. Makes it sooooo easy.

Is there any word if CK is going to rerun the project 365?

Jenn, that is so cool! I've felt like so many of my photos are mundane, too. I love your response to seeing them all together. TFS.
